Ginger-Peach Black Tea with Oat Milk

Ingredients

  • 1¼ cups (300 ml)300 gBrewed black teafreshly brewed strong and hot
  • 1 cup220 gWatercold
  • ⅓ cup25 gOld-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 medium160 gPeachesfinely diced
  • 1½ tbsp grated8 gFresh gingerpeeled and finely grated
  • 2¾ tsp18 gMaple syrup
  • ⅛ tsp0.3 gGround cloves

Steps

  1. Brew the black tea first and keep it hot.
  2. Make the oat milk: blend the oats with the cold water on high for about 1 minute, until very smooth and milky. Set it aside.
  3. In a small pot over medium heat, cook the peach with the ginger and maple syrup, stirring often, for 4 to 5 minutes, until the peach is soft and jammy. Mash it well with a fork.
  4. Stir in the cloves, then pour in the oat milk. Heat, stirring constantly, for 2 to 3 minutes until steaming and slightly thickened; do not let it boil hard.
  5. Pour in the hot black tea and stir until steaming again.
  6. For a silky texture, carefully pour the latte into the blender, vent the lid, cover with a towel and blend for 15 seconds.
  7. Divide between two mugs and serve hot.
