Frothy Vanilla Honey Green Tea Latte

A matcha-style latte with strong, grassy green tea under a cloud of whisked, vanilla-sweet skim milk foam.

Frothy Vanilla Honey Green Tea Latte

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup (180 ml)200 gBrewed green teabrewed double-strength and kept hot
  • 1½ cups (350 ml)360 gSkim milk
  • 2½ tsp18 gHoney
  • 1 tsp4 gVanilla extract

Steps

  1. Brew the green tea at double strength with water just off the boil, about 175°F (80°C), for 3 minutes so it tastes bold without turning bitter, then strain it and keep it hot. Pantry green tea stands in for matcha powder here.
  2. Pour the skim milk into a small pot and warm it over medium-low heat until steaming with small bubbles at the edge, about 4 minutes. Do not let it boil.
  3. Take the pot off the heat and stir the honey and vanilla into the hot milk until the honey dissolves.
  4. Whisk the vanilla milk briskly in the pot, tilting it slightly, for about 1 minute until it is foamy on top.
  5. Divide the hot green tea between two mugs, half in each.
  6. Pour half of the frothed vanilla milk into each mug, spooning the foam over the top, and serve hot.

Contains: Milk.
