  • 3½ tbsp grated20 gFresh gingergrated
  • 3 tbsp45 gLow-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp20 gHoney
  • 1 tbsp15 gApple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp8 gCornstarch
  • ½ cup100 gWater
  • 1½ tbsp20 gCanola oildivided
  • 1¾ tsp8 gToasted sesame oil
  • 2¾ tsp8 gSesame seeds
  • ½ tsp1 gBlack pepper

Steps

  1. Prep first: cube the salmon, shred the cabbage, slice the mushrooms, julienne the carrot, slice the green onion with whites and greens kept separate, mince the garlic and grate the ginger.
  2. Make the sauce: whisk the soy sauce, honey, cider vinegar, cornstarch, water and toasted sesame oil in a small bowl. Set aside.
  3. Cook the pasta in a large pot of boiling unsalted water until just tender, about 9 minutes. Drain and rinse briefly so it doesn't stick.
  4. Heat half of the canola oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season the salmon with the black pepper and sear in one layer, turning gently, until browned and the center reaches 145°F (63°C), 4 to 5 minutes. Move the salmon to a plate.
  5. Add the remaining half of the canola oil to the skillet. Add the mushrooms and cook undisturbed until browned, about 4 minutes.
  6. Add the cabbage, carrot and green onion whites; stir-fry until the cabbage is crisp-tender, 3 to 4 minutes.
  7. Push the vegetables aside, add the garlic and ginger to the open spot and stir for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  8. Stir the sauce again, pour it into the skillet, and add the cooked pasta. Toss until the sauce thickens and coats everything, about 1 minute.
  9. Gently fold the salmon back in to warm through. Serve topped with the green onion greens and sesame seeds.
