- 1 tbsp15 gApple cider vinegar
- 2⅛ tsp15 gHoney
- 1¾ tsp8 gToasted sesame oil
- 1½ tbsp12 gSesame seeds

Steps
- Rinse the brown rice, then bring it to a boil in a pot with 480 g of the water. Cover, simmer on low for 40 minutes, rest 10 minutes off the heat, then spread on a plate to cool and dry slightly.
- While the rice cooks, make the sauce: whisk the soy sauce, cider vinegar, honey, toasted sesame oil, red pepper flakes, half of the cornstarch and the remaining 120 g of water in a small bowl.
- Toss the black beans with the other half of the cornstarch.
- Heat one third of the canola oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the black beans and cook, stirring rarely, for 5 to 6 minutes until crisp at the edges. Move to a plate.
- Add another third of the canola oil to the skillet. Add the carrot and broccoli and stir-fry 4 to 5 minutes until tender-crisp. Add the edamame and cook 2 minutes. Push the vegetables to the sides.
- Add the last third of the canola oil to the center, then the garlic, ginger and green onion whites; stir 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the cooled rice and stir-fry 3 minutes until hot and lightly toasted.
- Stir the sauce, pour it over, and toss 1 to 2 minutes until glossy and thickened. Fold in the crispy black beans.
- Serve topped with the green onion greens and sesame seeds.
