- ¼ tsp0.5 gCrushed red pepper
- 1½ cups280 gLong-grain white rice, dryrinsed

Steps
- Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan, stir in the rice, cover and simmer on low for 18 minutes, then rest off the heat for 5 minutes and fluff.
- While the rice cooks, stir the breadcrumbs and milk together in a large bowl and let soak for 5 minutes.
- Add the ground beef, ground pork, egg, Parmesan, half the garlic, half the parsley, the oregano, black pepper and salt to the soaked breadcrumbs; mix gently with your hands until just combined.
- Roll the mixture into 16 balls, about 1.5 inches each, and wash your hands.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and brown the meatballs in batches, turning, about 6 minutes; move them to a plate.
- Lower the heat to medium, add the remaining half of the garlic and the red pepper flakes to the skillet and stir for 30 seconds.
- Pour the marinara sauce into the skillet, scraping up the browned bits, and bring the marinara to a simmer.
- Return the meatballs to the marinara in the skillet, cover and simmer gently for 12 to 15 minutes, turning once, until they reach 160°F (71°C) in the center.
- Spoon the rice into bowls, top with the meatballs and marinara, and scatter the remaining half of the parsley over the top.
