Grassy honey-sweetened green tea floats over a cold, creamy vanilla oat milk blended fresh, making a two-tone latte that turns silky when stirred.

Layered Iced Vanilla Green Tea Oat Latte

Ingredients

  • 1⅓ cups (320 ml)320 gBrewed green teabrewed strong and chilled
  • ⅓ cup30 gOld-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1¼ cups280 gWaterice-cold
  • 1 tbsp20 gHoney
  • 1 tsp4 gVanilla extract
  • a pinch0.3 gSalt

Steps

  1. Make sure the green tea is brewed ahead and fully chilled before you start.
  2. Make the vanilla oat milk: put the oats and the ice-cold water in a blender and let them soak for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the vanilla and the salt to the blender and blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds, until very smooth and creamy. Blend only briefly so the oat milk stays silky rather than slimy.
  4. In a pitcher, stir the honey into the chilled green tea until fully dissolved.
  5. Fill two tall glasses with ice and pour half of the vanilla oat milk into each glass.
  6. Slowly pour half of the honeyed green tea over the back of a spoon into each glass so it floats on top of the oat milk in a layer.
  7. Serve right away and stir before sipping.
