Brown Sugar Oat Milk Cold Brew with Nutmeg

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups (350 ml)360 gBrewed coffeecold brew, chilled
  • ¾ cup200 gWaterice-cold
  • ⅓ cup30 gOld-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1½ tbsp packed24 gBrown sugar
  • ½ tsp2 gVanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp0.5 gGround nutmeg
  • ⅛ tsp0.5 gSalt

Steps

  1. The pantry has no ready-made oat milk, so you'll blend a quick brown sugar oat milk first.
  2. Put the oats, ice-cold water, brown sugar, vanilla, salt and half of the nutmeg in a blender.
  3. Blend on high for 30 to 45 seconds, just until smooth and creamy; blending longer can make the oat milk gummy.
  4. Let the brown sugar oat milk rest for 1 minute so any coarse bits settle, then stir.
  5. Fill two glasses with ice and pour half of the cold brew coffee into each glass.
  6. Slowly pour half of the brown sugar oat milk over the coffee in each glass so it swirls in.
  7. Dust the remaining half of the nutmeg over the two drinks, dividing it evenly, and serve right away, stirring before sipping.
