Chunky Salted Almond Butter Spread

Ingredients

  • ⅔ cup whole90 gAlmonds
  • 2½ tbsp40 gAlmond butter, no salt addedstirred well
  • ¼ tsp1.2 gSaltfine

Steps

  1. Set aside one third of the almonds. Put the remaining two thirds of the almonds in a powerful food processor or high-speed blender.
  2. Process the almonds for 6 to 10 minutes, stopping every minute or two to scrape down the sides. They go from crumbs to a clumpy paste, then turn glossy and loose. Rest the motor if it gets warm.
  3. Add the almond butter and the salt. Process for about 1 minute, until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add the reserved almonds and pulse 5 to 8 times, just until they are broken into small crunchy bits.
  5. Scrape the almond butter into a clean jar. Serve right away or cover and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks, stirring before use.
