  • 1 cup chopped16 gFresh cilantrochopped
  • 1 lime, juiced44 gLime juice
  • 3 cups shredded210 gGreen cabbagethinly shredded
  • 4 oz120 gPlain Greek yogurt, nonfat
  • 1 cup diced150 gAvocadosliced
  • 1½ tsp4 gChili powder
  • 1¼ tsp3 gPaprika (sweet or smoked)smoked
  • 1 tsp2 gGround cumin
  • ¾ tsp2 gGarlic powder
  • ½ tsp3 gSalt
  • 1 tbsp14 gCanola oil

Steps

  1. Make the salsa first: in a bowl, stir together the tomato, red onion, jalapeño, half of the cilantro, one third of the lime juice and one third of the salt. Set aside.
  2. Make the slaw: toss the cabbage with another third of the lime juice and another third of the salt.
  3. Make the sauce: stir the Greek yogurt with the remaining third of the lime juice until smooth.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, garlic powder and the remaining third of the salt. Rub this spice mix over both sides of the cod fillet pieces.
  5. Heat the canola oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the cod fillet pieces and cook 3 to 4 minutes per side, until the cod flakes easily and reaches 145°F (63°C) inside. Move the cod to a plate and break it into large flakes.
  6. Wipe the skillet and warm the flour tortillas one at a time, about 30 seconds per side; wrap them in a towel to keep soft.
  7. Fill each flour tortilla with the cabbage slaw, flaked cod, tomato salsa and avocado slices, drizzle with the yogurt sauce and finish with the remaining half of the cilantro. Serve 2 tacos per person.
